arsenal management reveals plans to replace wenger
CEO of arsenal fc Ivan Gazidis has revealed the club already has a plan in place to replace Arsene Wenger. The 66-year-old Frenchman has been in charge of the Gunners since 1996
and while no immediate plans to walk away from the club, Arsenal have
already devised a plan of succession.
Gazidis said the Gunners have a clear idea of how they will replace Wenger when it comes to leave the club, but declined to disclose specific details. "Obviously he is going to manage us next year and we are planning and making many decisions for the long term," Gazidis said, according to The Telegraph.
"The reality is that we did not leave things until the last minute. I'm comfortable that if Arsenio will extend know that and if, whenever that is, it will come to an end, he will give us the time we need to prepare for the transition. "
Gazidis also insisted Arsenal boss will not overstaying your welcome at the Emirates Stadium, amid recent calls for the French to give up. "The relationship with Arsene is very deep. This will be done behind closed doors and we will have our transition plans worked well," said the executive director of Arsenal.
"I know Arsenio would not stay on if he thought the club was not heading in a good direction and thought he would not be able to deliver what the fans want."
Meanwhile, Gazidis also dismissed the idea that Wenger is resting on past achievements and "nostalgia". "The reason why we have as our director Arsenio is because our board believes it can offer success," Gazidis the Arsenal boss said. "The reason why Arsene is here is because he believes he can deliver success.
"If any of us did not believe that will not be limited by nostalgia or homesickness, we would have to make a change. Arsenio understand and support that. But just not how it feels either side. We believe we are in a good way" .
Wenger is expected to spend a lot this summer after not sign a single player high level field for Arsenal during the summer transfer window of 2015 has already completed the signing of Granit Xhaka and is expected to more big-name players to follow in the coming months.
