Nigerian representatives alert the existence of Killer Tomato Paste

The House of Representatives on Wednesday warned Nigerians in the alleged existence of tomato pastes cancer-causing imported into the country by some unscrupulous people with a promised to unmask those behind the dastardly act.
Therefore, he has ordered the Commission on Health Services and Drug Enforcement to investigate the alleged importation of such counterfeit and inferior and cancerous quality in the country with a view to identifying them, their importers and promoters and distributors said to have distributed nationwide market with products at very cheap prices.
The resolution is after the adoption of a motion under matters of urgent public importance moved on the floor of the House yesterday by the Honorable Nicholas Ossai Ossai (PDP, Delta State).
Hon Osai while referring to a publication in a national newspaper of 9 May 2016 is, claimed that there was a conspiracy that had boasted that nothing could stop the import of counterfeiting and paste poor tomato in the country .
According to him, "this ugly development of imports of cancer infested tomato paste is to kill a lot of Nigerians and reported that this mafia group is working with few indigenous manufacturers of Nigeria, being used as a cover to distribute killer products ".
Hon Ossai expressed concerns that the "fake, shoddy and causes tomato paste cancer" has flooded the markets of Nigeria with low prices, which had forced the closure of companies tomato resourceful in Nigeria and had led to the dismissal of more 50 percent of its workforce.
The motion was approved unanimously with the committees given three weeks to inform the House to provide more legislative information.
