NANS HOLDS PEACEFUL PROTEST IN OWERRI OVER FUEL PRICE HIKE

The National Association of Nigerian Students, Imo State Chapter, organized a peaceful demonstration against the recent rise in prices of Motor Spirit Premium (PMS) also called petrol by the federal government. Youth in their numbers took to the streets of the capital of Owerri Imo State, causing heavy traffic congestion and carrying placards with various inscriptions. The labor union had issued the Federal Government a 4-day ultimatum to revert to the old petrol pump price of 86.50 naira or risk a nationwide protest. The ultimatum expires midnight Tuesday.
