MISSING NIGERIA MEDICAL STUDENT FOUND IN LAKE MICHIGAN
The reports reveal that the body of Ambrose Monye, 28, who had been a student of fourth year medical student at the University of Guadalajara in Mexico, had been removed from Lake Michigan near Promontory Point Park on Sunday May 8, 2016.
Monye who was on a rotation of two years at Jackson Park Hospital and Medical Center in Chicago, had last been seen April 21, 2016, the march to the University of John Crerar Library in Chicago, a medical research library 5730 S. Ellis Avenue.
Reports reveal that the family members had described the disappearance of Monye strange given the fact that he had prepared for graduation in a few weeks.
His younger brother, Joseph Ambrose, revealed in an interview with Dateline NBC before the discovery of Monye, the lights in the apartment Monye were all about, and well stocked fridge with groceries when Police had checked on him after he was reported missing.
"It's only four weeks of his goal. His tickets for graduation are already purchased for the ceremony. He ordered his cap and gown and all.
"I remain hopeful that my brother is there, but it's hard to be optimistic because it was so long.
"He frequents cafes in the neighborhood of Hyde Park."
Spokesman Chicago Police Department, Officer Laura Amezaga said NewsOne On 8 May 2016, a body was found at 5400 S. Lake Shore Drive, adding that he had taken a few days before the body was identified as that of Monye.
"It has been identified and now there is an investigation into the death. It is an investigation to determine the cause of death."
